Emma Paterson from Aitken Alexander Associates represents writers across literary fiction, non-fiction and poetry – including Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo, short story writer and Guardian columnist Chris Power, Sunday Times bestseller Otegha Uwagba, the infamous Sam Knight, a staff writer at The New Yorker, and Mary Jean Chan, an International Literature Showcase writer who became the first poet of colour to win the Costa Poetry Prize in 2019.
In this two-hour session, Emma will share her insights into what agents do, how they find and work with their authors, as well as her top tips for submitting your manuscript to agents. With an extended Q&A session, the Agent’s Insights event is an invaluable window into the workings of the publishing world.
For participants aged 16 and over only.
The event takes place at the National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall on Friday 20th March 2020.
