Gillie started her publishing career at Methuen Children's Books. Her passion is for discovering new voices with a gift for great storytelling, in any genre, for children of 9+ and Young Adults. For 10 years she was Publishing Director for Children's Fiction at HarperCollins where she published authors Michael Morpurgo, Louise Rennison, Garth Nix, Darren Shan, Helen Dunmore, Jenny Valentine, Diana Wynne Jones, Derek Landy and Judith Kerr.

Her clients include Moira Young, whose debut novel BLOOD RED ROAD, the first book in the Dustlands Trilogy for the YA/Crossover market, has sold in the UK, US and Canada and 20 foreign territories, and the film option has been sold to Ridley Scott's company Scott Free. Published in June 2011 by Marion Lloyd Books it has recently won the Costa Children's Book Award as well as being shortlisted for many other awards.

Mark Lowery, whose comic novel SOCKS ARE NOT ENOUGH was published in February 2012 by Scholastic UK and has also sold in Germany with the TV/film option going to Left Bank.

Her other clients include two exciting Irish debut authors, Debbie McCune and Regina de Burca.
