‘I connect with the North East’s sense of being on the margins’: an interview with NorthBound Book Award winner Juliana Mensah

The NorthBound Book Award was created in 2019 by Salford-based indie publisher Saraband and New Writing North as part of the Northern Writers’ Awards to celebrate the richness of writing from the North of England and the innovative spirit of independent publishing. Juliana Mensah was named the inaugural winner for her début novel, Castles from Cobwebs . Here, she talks about the prize, and publishing her winning entry.
