We are delighted to see several books by Aitken Alexander authors appear in the first of the Best Books of the Summer lists.
In its summer reading list ‘The Great Escape: 50 brilliant books to transport you this Summer’, the Guardian recommends Dear Life by Rachel Clarke, Sisters by Daisy Johnson and Rainbow Milk by Paul Mendez. It also says to look out for Rumage by Emily Cockayne, “an entertaining, anecdote-rich history of rubbish, recycling and making-do”, which will be published in July. You can find the full article here.
In the Sunday Times, Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo, Lanny by Max Porter, The Bass Rock by Evie Wyld, Rainbow Milk by Paul Mendez and The Volunteer by Jack Fairweather all make the list, which can be found here.
iNEWs calls Dear Life by Rachel Clarke “arguably the most remarkable book of the year”, and praises Paul Mendez’s Rainbow Milk as a “wonderful debut”. Read the full article here.
