Liz Berry’s “spellbinding” novel in verse, THE HOME CHILD, was both the overall winner and poetry category winner of the 2024 Writer’s Prize (previously the Rathbone’s Folio Prize).

The Writer’s Prize is unique in that there are no publisher submissions – all titles are nominated and judged by the Folio academy. The prize claims to have only one criteria: excellence. They aim “to identify works of literature in which the subjects being explored achieve their most perfect and thrilling expression.” Each category winner receives £2,000, with the overall winner receiving an additional £30,000.

Our warmest congratulations to Liz for this recognition. You can see all the shortlisted titles here.
